‘Bipolar’ Music Video Launch Party

Cape Town alternative/pop/rock sensations Autopilot launch the music video for the single ‘Bipolar’ off the upcoming album ‘A Broken Word’. The album was produced by Charlie Murder with executive production by the multi-award winning Theo Crous (Prime Circle, the Parlotones, the Dirty Skirts, Chris Chameleon, etc).

The launch takes place at Mercury Live on Friday 29 January 2010 and includes a half hour stand-up show by funny-man Dave Levinsohn. Dave has regularly performed at the Vodacom International festival and the Smirnoff comedy festival. Television viewers are already familiar with Dave’s quirky, irrepressible humour from his ‘Big Black Box’ ads, or possibly as the zany co-presenter in the first series of the SABC 3 TV show ‘Going Nowhere Slowly’. Dave was the winner of the pro section of the Red bull comedy jam in 2004 as well as the winner of the Nando’s most original approach to comedy in Grahamstown in 2008.

DJ SideShow will be providing entertainment between the acts and Autopilot’s sponsor Jagermeister will be on hand to give away free shooters and merchandise. Two Metal Machine tattoo and piercing vouchers are also up for grabs on the night.

The ‘Bipolar’ music video was produced by Tiny Productions who also produced Autopilot’s video for the track ‘Beautiful’ off their debut EP of the same name. ‘Beautiful’ made it to number 4 on MK TV’s Top 10 in December 2007.

Autopilot’s new album ‘A Broken Word’ boasts 11 tracks and can be expected on music store shelves soon.

New album & Music Video

It’s been a long time coming but Autopilot is on the verge of finalizing the new album ‘A Broken Word’. Autopilot is currently planning the future ahead with a possible major label signing in the midst – watch this space!

Autopilot recently played the Grahamstown Festival where they opened for the Parlotones and rocked out to a sold out show! The band has played a couple shows since but has been concentrating on the completion of the album.

The music video for the first single ‘Bipolar’ off the new album has been planned and will be shot within the next week and will be ready to be launched with the new album!

Autopilot has also renewed an awesome sponsorship deal with the brand Jagermeister in recent months! All Autopilot merchandise is currently available at all shows – sponsored by Jagermeister!

Autopilot will be hosting their 1st ever Fashion Show where they will be showing off their limited edition clothing line together with young designers, Demelza and Snortis Tortis, and jewelry designer Heart Africa. The evening promises to be a memorable one with sexy models, celebrity guests, lots of press coverage, prizes and more.
This will be followed by a performance by Autopilot and the crazy Paul Snodgrass will be the MC for the evening!

Album progress & Festival updates

Autopilot is currently putting the final touches on their debut album ‘A Broken Word’ which promises to be completed by the end of March 2009. It has been a long process but the band definitely feels it has been worth it!

Band merchandise, including T-shirts (male & female), Beanies, Military Caps, Boxers and G-strings are currently being manufactured which will be available for purchase shortly.

Autopilot has also been confirmed for 2009’s KKNK Festival in Oudtshoorn as well as the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. No dates have yet been finalized but as soon as these are available they will be published.

This promises to be an amazing year for Autopilot. Listen out for the new singles on national radio soon!

Welcome to Autopilot’s new website! We are excited to share with you all that is happening with the band and look forward to interacting with you.

We will be uploading photos of gigs past and gigs to come as well as updating you with progress on our new album. Yes, Autopilot’s new album ‘A BROKEN WORD’ will be hitting stores in early 2009! We are currently busy with pre-production and will start tracking the album at the end of October 2008. This will be Autopilot’s first full length album and will be produced by Theo Crous and Charles Murder!

We are also excited to inform you that we will be playing this year’s Woodstock Festival in Johannesburg in late November.

Along with the new album will be new Autopilot merchandise for you to purchase - watch this space.
